A Partnership for Endurance Xcellence

Dinah Rojek

Dinah has had a lifetime around horses -- including a number of hair-raising stories.  Since reaching what might be called years of discretion, she has bred Arabs and half-Arabs; been actively involved and competing in competitive trail riding and endurance racing; and devoted to educating the riders in these disciplines.  Dinah's accomplishments are legion in all these areas, including over 23,000 lifetime competition miles and being recently named an FEI 4* judge having judged worldwide.

Selected accomplishments:

In Dinah's words:
One of my passions has been working to improve education of endurance riders and other equestrians, as a lecturer at the college level and former chairperson and current member of the AERC Education Committee.  Currently I am Gayle Ecker's and Dr Mike Lindiger's Peer Helper in their Equine Exercise Physiology Course at the University of Guelph.
Most of my over 23,000 competition miles were on horses from my breeding program.  Two horses from that program attended World Championships, including a gold medal winner.  I have also bred four Pan American / North American horses who have earned many gold, silver, and bronze medals.
Internationally, I was on the last U.S. team to win a medal for the country and currently officiates as an International FEI judge worldwide.  I retired from 100-mile rides after winning that medal because, "it just isn't going to get any better than this."   I serve as the East Coast Representitive to the AERC International Committee, as well as the United States Equestrian Federation's Endurance Technical Committee.
On the side, I compete in Dressage at third level, and am interested in competing in the Para-Equestrian Championships.

Recent endurance rides:

  • 2009: A couple of quick LDs recovering first and BC
  • 2008:  Second and BC at Pine Tree 50 on Finch
  • 2008:  Fourth at Bugaboo 50 on Phoenix
  • 2008:  Sixth at Gator Run 55 on Phoenix
  • 2007 and earlier -- multiple wins, top tens, BCs, and completions
